A downloadable game

This is the Home edition of the Unpath'd Waters, Undream'd Shores simulation. Unpath'd Waters is an AHRC-funded, 'Towards a National Collection' project.

The Home version is under ongoing development, almost every aspect of this software will be improved. It is made available on a trial basis.

A more stable, less complex version is available via the Exhibition edition, here:

This is an interactive simulation rather than a game. It is an attempt to make the lands under and around the North Sea accessible. Users can select a location and time from the regional map and zoom into a local simulation which presents a virtual environment based on data from many disciplines. Our aim is to present the lands under the North Sea in a way that enables users to start to imagine how life differed across the area, and across different times. Doggerland, the name for the now submerged lands between Britain and mainland Europe, was home to a human population whose lives could be very different depending on when or where they lived.

This is a product of the Submerged Landscapes Research Centre at the University of Bradford.

Changelog

0.45 - Made it a bit more sensible to move forwards and backwards in time in the local simulation.

0.44 - Implemented A* route planning for animals too. Long journeys should be less linear.

0.43 - Implemented A* route planning for human movement but there are optimisations to be made.
